The Enhanced Home Care for the Elderly (eHCE) program in Florida offers low-cost, high-impact interventions to eligible seniors, providing up to $6,000 for enhancements such as home modifications, medical monitoring devices, and accessible smart home devices. The program aims to support aging adults in safely and independently aging in their own homes, particularly those at risk of moving to assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Many state governments offer tax subsidies to older adults that are not available to younger taxpayers, resulting in a substantial revenue loss of about $48 billion annually.
